My interest is the creative learner and how to better understand effective ways to draw this outward from ourselves and our students. In the Artchat.edublog (elementary), Karen Chapman posted a visual link to Daniel Pink’s book A Whole New Mind, where he brings to the forefront the potential creative thinkers have in impacting our world to a greater degree. Please take the time to review the site and the book.

My book of interest is by Ken Robinson, author of Out of Our Minds, Learning to be Creative. He addresses many questions about our educational structure and the areas that have supported and hindered the creative capacities. He further de-constructs the brain functions while probing deeper into knowing ones mind. Which by the way, is there a distinct difference? He goes one step further from Mr. Pink and positions the “meta” about creativity into the educational realm and self responsibility.

I am a strong advocate for the creative thought process and its causal implications of a direct affect. As an educator who believes that creative propensities are inherent to our genetic makeup, I also support the need to understand the dimensions of creative properties.
